I have always been interested in people, relationships, and the challenges that people are confronted with in their day-to-day lives. I found the area of law to be both interesting and challenging, particularly in terms of how it impacts on people's lives. I felt that I would be an effective counselor and advocate on behalf of other people.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, I worked as an investigator for J.L.Hudson's. My employment responsibilities included dealing with both employers and members of the public who got involved in various illegal activities. During my years as an investigator, I had the opportunity to interact and work with members of law enforcement from time to time which allowed my to expand my knowledge of the law even before going to law school.
I started out my career as a business attorney. However, the law firm that I worked for began to provide me with family law matters to handle. The more I worked on this type of case, the more my interest in the area of family law began to grow.
Our law firm prides itself on being a result-oriented law firm. We try, whenever possible,to take both a strategic and practicial approach when representing clients and try to guide them accordingly. We understand many of the things that frustrate clients and try to do our best to avoid the types of things that get clients frustrated and ultimately make them unhappy. Our law firm is committed to providing quality representation at affordable rates. The best example of this is the fact that we allow our cllients to enter into payment plans and we try, whenever possible, to make those payment plans as affordable as possible.
The ideal clients is one who is willing to listen and who is seeking to pursue results that are fair and equitable. The ideal client is one who keeps his/her commitments, particularly as they relate to the obligation to pay for services that are rendered and costs that are advanced on his/her behalf.
Both my wife and I have, in the past, and continue to donate to multiple charities. I am particulalry interested in charities that benefit families and which do not allow or incur excessive administrative costs. I have over the years personally handled and have allowed atorneys working for me to represent indigent clients from time to time. When I take a pro bono case, I do not do it for the attention or any publicitiy that it may garner but rather becasue, at the time, it feels like the right thing to do. Our law firm has no set policy regarding pro bono work. Our decision to do pro bono cases is discretionary.
